Learn to Sew for Children



Yes, your child can learn to sew! Sewing encourages independence and self esteem. Sewing also helps develop patience and perseverance, enhances problem solving and other life skills. Students will experience a sense of accomplishment with each completed project. All that, and its fun too!

The Learn to Sew Class will be a 2 week session on Saturday. Classes will be held 10:00AM - 12:30PM, at a price of $80.00 for the 2 weeks. Class size will be limited to 4-5 students ages 7 and up.

Once they have completed the basic Learn to Sew class we will be offering project classes every other Saturday so watch for our project class e-mail!

 

Our Learn to Sew lessons will include:

- use of a sewing machine

- sewing straight lines and zigzags

- turning and top stitching

- inserting elastic

- how to make ruffles

- how to sew in a zipper

- how to read a pattern

 

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

Folder, Notebook

       Basic sewing supplies:

Fabric Scissors

  • Paper scissors
  • Pins with large heads
  • Seam Ripper
  • Marking tool
  • Pen or Pencil
  • Tape Measure
